Learn about finding and getting the most out of human rights internships, as fellow students describe their experiences and answer your questions.

ROTC Public Hearings


The Task Force on Military Enagement of the University Senate cordially invites you to participate in the spring deliberations on the Reserve Officers Training Corps. The goal of this process is to provide the Senate with adequate information and context to issue recommendations by the end of the 2010-2011 academic year on questions of Columbia's relationship with the U.S. military, particularly the issue of formal participation in ROTC. The management of this deliberative process will be non-partisan in nature, with a focus on listening to the opinions of the University community.

GS Gala Poster Contest

Show your creativity and become the official designer for this year's GS Gala posters!
The theme is "The Black & White Ball," and the event will take place on Saturday, April 9, at the Roosevelt Hotel. Not only will the best design be used for the posters, the winner will also receive a free ticket to the Gala!

Volunteering Opportunity at Rockefeller Center


Volunteer at the Climb to the Top fundraiser for the National MS Society at Rockefeller Center! 1,000 participants are expected to climb the 66 fights to the Top of the Rock observation deck, and 55 volunteers are needed to host a rest area, distribute T-shirts, cheer on climbers as they reach the finish line, and much more.

Apply to Become a GS Junior Marshal


At Class Day (the GS graduation ceremony), Junior Marshals serve in a variety of capacities: as welcoming greeters to guests, a source of information for graduates, and ushers to seat the families of graduates and special guests. Junior Marshals also direct the graduates to and from their seats during the ceremony, work with GS staff members at the event, and assist in the overall running of Class Day. Apply
