1. Thursday Night Happy Hour

2. Spanish Social

You are fascinated by Spanish and the Hispanic culture? Then this is the event for you!
All students who speak Spanish, take Spanish classes, or are generally interested in Hispanic culture are invited to an evening filled with ambiente latinoamericano, including Latin food and dance performances, and various guest speakers from our faculty and different groups on campus.

Date: Saturday, Oct. 9
Place: Havana Central (2911 Broadway, between 113th & 114th streets)
Time: 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Price: FREE!
Additional Information: Please bring 2 forms of ID. No age restrictions.

3. Alumni Luncheon

Would you like to have lunch with a GS alumn who shares your major or career field?
At the Alumni Luncheon, you will be able to meet and mingle with alumni, who are able to offer advice and happy to discuss career opportunities. This event caters mainly to psychology, economics, and political science majors?the top three majors in GS. 
If you would like to attend, even if you have a different major, please email Candice Arakelian at ca2402@columbia.edu (include your major and intended career field in your email).

4. Snack Attacks!

We know that studying for midterms makes it easy to forget to sleep, relax, and especially, eat. This is why we will be providing snacks for you, to get you through the week alive and healthy.

5. Class of 2011 T-Shirt Design Competition

Show your creativity, and you just may become the official designer for the Class of 2011 T-shirts! Submit as many designs as you like, and all entries will be considered by a selection committee. Not only will the best design be used for the T-shirts, the winner will also receive a free ticket to either the Senior Cruise or the GS Gala.

6. Columbia Economics Review

Are you an economics major, or considering to be one? Then get started with an extracurricular activity in your field of interest!
The Columbia Economics Review, a new student-run publication focused on showcasing the economic research and analyses of Columbia students, is currently accepting applications for its Inaugural Editorial Board for the 2010-2011 academic year, as well as pitches for its November 2010 issue.

7. Volunteering with Community Impact

Interested in mentoring motivated GED students?
Through the College Road program at CI, college-bound GED students are paired with GS students, who can act as role models and mentors for students just approaching the system of higher education. If you are expected to do volunteer work, this is a perfect way to fulfill your requirement.
