Welcome class of 2011 (and beyond)!
With a new academic year comes the opportunity to gain new experiences inside and outside the classroom. Whether you are a returning Junior or a new transfer student, this page will serve as a bulletin for the many events, programs, and happenings of the G.S.S.C. and the Columbia community as a whole. Check back regularly for updates.
This year's G.S.S.C Junior Class Representatives will be focused on uniting our class through these opportunities:
- Participation in GSSC social events on campus.
- Pizza nights, BBQ's, and the spring gala to name a few.
- Organize groups to explore New York City and experience the rich culture that surrounds us (things that many of us might not otherwise do on our own).
- Possibilities include walking the Brooklyn Bridge, checking out the Fulton Fish Market (now in the Bronx), visiting Prospect Park, riding the Staten Island Ferry (which is free btw!), taking in an afternoon Mets game, checking out the South Street Seaport, and many more! If you have some ideas please let us know so we can organize a group and go!
- Encourage GS student integration into the many extracurricular activities within the greater Columbia community.
- For example, club sports, varsity sports, special interest groups.
- Organize participation in service events that allow GS'ers the opportunity to reach out to the community and connect in a meaningful way.
