How To: Post Minutes

Synopsis: These directions instruct you on how to create a new page for the minutes of a GSSC meeting, and for those minutes to be linked to, from the actual Minutes page itself.

Pre-requisites: You must be able to create and edit the "Page" content type. You can check to see if you can do that by clicking "Create Content" on the left. If you see "Page" then you are set. If you don't see "Page" contact Brody Berg, the VP of Communications and Site Administrator.

Directions

  1. On the left side of this page click "Create content"
  2. Click "Page"
  3. Set the Title field to: "(The date) Minutes" ex. 9/25/2007 Minutes
  4. Set the Body to: The minutes you took
  5. Now scroll down to "URL path settings" and click it
  6. In the text box type this: gssc/minutes/ and then the name of this page, that you are creating, which will be exactly like the full date with no spaces or slashes. ex. 09252007minutes
  7. So the full value of the textbox will be something like: gssc/minutes/09252007minutes
  8. Click Submit
  9. Confirm that when you click submit, your browser then goes to http://gslounge.com/gssc/minutes/09252007minutes or, in other words "http://gslounge.com/" + whatever you put in the box two steps above
  10. Now load the Minutes page by clicking Minutes on the left-hand "Resources Menu"
  11. If you don't see an "Edit" link, contact Brody Berg so that he can give you Editing permissions.
  12. If you can see the "Edit" link, click it
  13. In the Body text box, you'll see a list. Add a new entry at the beginning of this list
  14. Make that entry the date of these minutes ex. "9/25/2007"
  15. Then use the rich-edit controls to create a hyperlink to the location of the minutes page you created
  16. Click "Submit"
  17. Congratulations! You are done!
