Subject: RE: access to aliases
You will need secured Internet software such as "PuTTy" in order to
update your list. PuTTy is also available in all campus computer Labs.
Launch PuTTy and log into cunix with your UNI and the password that
corresponds with your UNI.
When the dollar sign appears (the unix prompt), type the following
command line as it appears (use the same technique to update gsidea):
pico /sharemail/aliases/gssc
The existing file lists one address per line (try to maintain the same
format).
To save your updated list of addresses, hold the "Control" key while you
depress the letter "X".
Next, select the letter "Y" which means, yes, you want to save the file.
Then, select the 'Enter' Key
Your list of addresses will be saved.
If you don't have PuTTy on your Personal Computer, click on the
web-address below, and follow the directions to download and install
PuTTy on your Windows system:
Steps to install and documentation is available within the same
web-pages.
If you have a Mac machine, you will need to use or download "MacSSH" for
Mac OS 9; or "Terminal"
for MacOS X (refer to the same URL above).
