GS Team was #4 fundraiser out of 65 at the CU Relay for Life last Saturday, April 12th, 2008.
GS Junior Classwoman and team captain, Julia Murphy, lead our first ever GS team in a great success!!!!
We surpassed our team goal of $3,000 raising $3,163. Julia raised $2,010 alone!
Because we were in the top 5, we had a tent on college walk. We mixed and mingled with all students, we relayed, we represented General Studies, and had a great time.
Team Members: Julia Murphy, Jimmy Hang, Melissa Lefkowitz, Ashley Forman, Sarah Naylor, Scott Jurkowski, Elizabeth Alonzo-Halifax, Joel Pichardo, and Karly Curcio.
Thanks to those who supported the team in spirit or with contributions: Allen Settle, Chikodi Chima, Colleen Drozd, Alex Katz, Yong Park, Melissa Van, and many others.
Thank you, Julia, for all your hard work to make the first ever GS team, "Hootin' for a Cure," such a success!
The Secret Spots have now been posted from the Secret Spots around CU campus tour.

Hello everyone,

7p THURS March 27th. GS Lounge.
We will be posting our members soon!
The Junior Class Ad Hoc (you are committed to nothing) Council Other Great Upcoming Events
1st Mtg. Thurs, March 27, 7p-7:30p in the GS lounge in Lewisohn.
Initially we were going to call this the "you don't have to do J#*&, just be a voice and help create a network council." The point of the council is to hear a well rounded collection of voices and to start creating a larger Junior Class network, so that when we are Seniors, we don't turn around and say, "My gosh, I'm about to leave, I know very few people, and wish I would have gotten out and involved a litle bit more." This is also a good chance to serve and give back how and when you want. Please contact us if you are interested and can or cannot make the meetings. kc2370@columbia.edu

Success Series Luncheon: Internships
For those who’ve secured internships and those searching.
This second in our Junior Success Series Luncheons will introduce you your peers who have already found or completed internships and what they went through, as well as insights into their experience. Niamh O'Brien, the Director of Undergraduate Career Development from the Center of Career Education will also be in attendance to answer specific questions on how the CCE can help you land the internship you need. Please come, eat great food (we will never serve you pizza), and ask some questions. If you have completed an internship or just secured one of your own for this summer and are willing to share your experience, please come as well. This will be a fun, welcoming, tasty, and informative event.
